The Grand Tasting is the ultimate destination for the foodie and wine or beer lover! Enjoy fabulous food from 50 of the area's top restaurants, taste wine from over 70 international wineries and enjoy exciting micro-brews and craft beers. The backdrop for this spectacle is the stunning courtyard of the world-renowned John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.

Last year, the Ringling Museum's iconic statue of David gazed upon the crowd as they enjoyed perfect weather and a variety of sweet and savory fare: Kobe Short Ribs, Orange-Infused Cheese Blintzes, Paella, Oyster Shooters, Cortez Grouper Tacos, Marinated Flank Steak with Horseradish Sauce, Blueberry Banana Crumble, and a special local favorite – Smoky Scallop “Deviled” Egg with Mote Marine Caviar. Originals restaurateurs and chefs outdid themselves with fabulous dishes like Maine Lobster Stuffed Blue Point Oysters, Shrimp and Crab Ceviche, Chianti-Braised Short Ribs, Panko Crusted Shrimp Indian Rolls, Beer, Cheese and Bacon Cupcakes, House Cured Salmon Pastrami, Guava BBQ Shrimp, and more.

The acclaimed vintages of over 70 wineries from around the world were poured, with winemakers from California, Italy, South Africa, France, South America and many other locales chatting with guests and enjoying the excitement of the afternoon.

The Grand Tasting of 2012 promises to be even more tantalizing with new Originals member restaurants serving their specialties alongside well-known local favorites. We will feature our popular silent auction to benefit the Southwest Florida Chapter of The American Red Cross with special wines donated by our participating wineries. You will have the opportunity to order your favorite beverages from your afternoon of sampling. We recommend you buy your tickets in advance soon after they go on sale or you might risk missing out - last year was a sell out!
